Padangusthasana (Tip Toe Pose)

Please keep in mind that Padangusthasana should not be practiced by women and it is not performed by married males too often.  Padangusthasana comes from the Sanskrit word Pada means foot and Angushtha means toes.  Padangusthasana is very helpful for keeping celibacy. This is a very useful asana for celibates and students.

To perform Padangusthasana sit comfortably on yoga mat supporting yourself on your heels.  Then fix the left heel on the perineum (the region between testicles and anus) and balance the weight on toes and palms.  Now bend the right leg at the knee, and put the right leg on the left knee.

If you wish you can lean against a wall for balance.  Having maintained balance, keep your hands on your waist.  This is the final position of Padangusthasana. Breathe normally and keep the spine and neck straight. Hold on comfortably as long as possible and then return slowly. Relax comfortably. Repeat the asana with the other leg.
